Oil Furnace

Oil furnace is one of the most commonly used heating systems today. In many homes, this appliance is a permanently installed fixture as it provides heat especially during the cold days of winter.

Oil furnace primarily runs by using oil. It uses a special mechanism that turns oil into heat energy. There are also new models that combine oil with other energy alternatives such as grains, wood, and biodiesel.

Much like all other appliances, oil furnace also requires maintenance. Properly maintaining this heating device would increase both its efficiency and service life. Apart from this, it also saves you money while decreasing the risks of accidents from fire or explosion.

The first step in oil furnace maintenance is cleaning. Start by removing all the visible dust and dirt in the appliance’s surface. Remember also to clean the filter to make it grime and soot-free.

Of course, different oil furnace models require different cleaning methods. So, make sure you check the instructions manual before your start cleaning.

Make it a point to also check the smoke from the oil furnace. If your appliance is producing black smoke, this may mean that the oil not burning properly. Thus, it should be immediately repaired in order to prevent further damage to the heating system.
